(NASDAQ: VSAT) signed two contracts with RascomStar-Qaf, the pan-African satellite operator, to deliver satellite systems for high-capacity infrastructure communications carrying pan-African telephony and data between regional and national capitals and to provide rural telecommunications access across the African continent with RascomStar-Qaf VSAT terminals<\/p>\n<p>Due to this Viasat trues IPVision to provide its SIMA suite ( SIMA, SIMA Portal and the newly TES Portal development ) in order to have an unified privisioning point for every element in the network.<\/p>\n<p>With its TES Portal solution, especially designed for this project, the pan-African operators can manage Rural Telephone lines and price lists, among other things, on-demand without intervention of RascomStar-Qaf personal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About RascomStar-Qaf<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>RascomStar-Qaf is an African company based in Mauritius, which operates under a concession from Regional African Satellite Communications Organization (RASCOM), an intergovernmental treaty organization representing the interests of 45 African telecommunications operators. The company\u2019s shareholders are RASCOM, Libya Africa Investment Portfolio (LAIP), and Thales Alenia Space. RascomStar-Qaf\u2019s prime objective is to provide satellite capacity and telecommunication services for national and international public communications service providers across the continent of Africa. RascomStar-Qaf launched its first satellite RASCOM-QAF1 on Ariane V in December 2007. This high performance satellite provides pan-African coverage with multiple Ku- and C-band spot beam transponders until its transition to equivalent service on the RASCOM -QAF1R satellite were to be launched in mid-2010.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pgc-461-1-1\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-461-1-1-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-image panel-first-child\" data-index=\"2\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-image so-widget-sow-image-default-8b5b6f678277-461\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"sow-image-container\">\n\t\t<img \n\tsrc=\"https:\/\/www.ipvision.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/serviceImage.jpg\" width=\"503\" height=\"318\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ipvision.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/serviceImage.jpg 503w, https:\/\/www.ipvision.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/serviceImage-300x190.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 503px) 100vw, 503px\" alt=\"\" \t\tclass=\"so-widget-image\"\/>\n\t<\/div>\n\n<\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-461-1-1-1\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-last-child\" data-index=\"3\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>The two networks fulfill separate communication requirements for RascomStar-Qaf:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The R*BCS (RascomStar-Qaf <a href=\"http:\/\/www.viasat.com\/broadband-satellite-networks\">Broadband\u00a0<\/a>Connectivity Services) telephone and IP trunking network is based on<a href=\"http:\/\/www.viasat.com\/enterprise-satellite-networks\/linkway-system\">ViaSat LinkWay<sub>S2 <\/sub>networking<\/a> terminals and 7.3-meter gateway antenna systems. Gateways were scheduled for installation between late 2010 and mid - 2011.<\/li>\n<li>The R*TES (RascomStar-Qaf <a href=\"http:\/\/www.viasat.com\/enterprise-satellite-networks\">Telecommunication\u00a0<\/a>Services) network is designed to provide low density telephony and optional Internet access. The very low-powered R*TES will be designed to combine multiple low rate telephone circuits while minimizing power consumption, making them ideal for solar operation. High-speed Internet connection is an optional feature.
